Costa Rica possesses the greatest density of species in the world.
Geography: Costa Rica is located in Central America isthmus, bordered by Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the southeast, the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Caribbean Sea to the east.
Three mountain ranges run through the country. There are 14 known volcanoes in Costa Rica, and six of them have been active in the last 75 years. The highest volcano in the country is the Irazú Volcano (3,431 m or 11,257 ft).
Climate: the climate is tropical year round. However, the country has many microclimates depending on elevation, rainfall, topography, and by the geography of each particular region.There are tow season: the dry season known to the residents as summer (from December to April), and the rainy season, known locally as winter (from May to November).
